Bottled Beers a Milestone for Brisbane City's Microbrewey

Brisbane city’s microbrewery ‘The Brewhouse’ is allowing patrons to take home a sample of their brews following the announcement they are bottling and selling their boutique beers under the new label ‘Star Brewing Co’.

The Brewhouse director and resident brewer Grant Clark said they meticulously hand-bottled each bottle of beer on site at their Albert Street microbrewery before selling it to avid beer lovers.

“The Brewhouse microbrewery has been in operation since we took over the reins from the old Auroras in May 2005. We currently have eight beers on tap at the pub and we are just absolutely delighted to announce we are bottling four of our top brews,” he said.

From now until May next year, The Brewhouse will make more than 30,000 litres under the ‘Star Brewing Co’label which according to Grant makes the microbrewery the second largest brewery in Brisbane behind Milton’s own XXXX brewery.

The four beers ‘Star Brewing Co’ have bottled are hand crafted, high in vitamin B and minerals, contain no artificial ingredients or preservatives and use only the best Australian malt and hops.

When Grant is not busy brewing he is matching his bottled beer to his favourite dishes.

Try the Porter with a quality grilled steak and the Storm with a platter of cheese - King Island Cheddar and Lighthouse Blue are a great combination!

The Stout will also combine well with something big to match - anything from a grilled steak, shellfish or even as a dessert with a rich chocolate mudcake. It will also stand alone as a substitute to port, he said.

When it came to storing the bottled beer, Grant advised to keep the beer chilled.

Because our beers contain no preservatives, they are best kept refrigerated and will last up to 12 months, Grant said.

The beers are best enjoyed after being poured into a glass to allow the aroma and flavour to be released.
